PCAP is a gentle, practical approach that helps parents strengthen their relationship with their child through play, nurture and positive interaction.

Caught in the same arguments, struggling to understand your child's behaviour?

Parenting can be wonderful, but it can also feel hard. You might find yourself caught in the same arguments, struggling to understand your child's behaviour or feeling like you're constantly telling them what to do.

PCAP offers a way to slow things down, understand what's underneath the behaviour and build connection through play.

What is PCAP?

Parent-Child Attachment Play is a relationship-based approach that helps parents strengthen their connection with their child through play, nurture and positive interaction.

It helps you become more curious about what your child may be communicating and find practical ways to respond that build connection and security.

It's not about being a perfect parent. It's about becoming more connected.

Could PCAP be right for you?

PCAP may be helpful if you:

  • Want to feel closer to your child

  • Find yourself stuck in the same battles

  • Want to understand your child's behaviour differently

  • Want practical ways to respond to big emotions

  • Feel that connection has become difficult

  • Simply want to strengthen an already good relationship

You don't need to have a major problem to benefit from PCAP.

PCAP isn't Play Therapy

PCAP focuses on the parent-child relationship, rather than providing individual therapy for your child.

If your child is experiencing significant emotional or behavioural difficulties, Play Therapy may be more appropriate. If you're unsure, we can talk about which approach might be the best fit.
